Did your child, sibling, niece, nephew, or other young budding artist have fun at MICE?? If so, please consider telling them about an affordable & totally fun course for high school students being offered by MICE’s host, the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University! It’s offered on Saturdays, from October 22-December 10, for a mere $125.00 + $45 materials.
COMICS AND THE GRAPHIC NOVEL:
This is an introductory course focusing on the history and production of graphic novels. Major figures and their work are reviewed and studied for inspiration. Students will view the collection of graphic novels in the AIB library. Students learn the basics of producing their own short comic story from beginning to end using various materials and techniques such as pencil, ink and brush washes, nib pen work, watercolor and markers, and some computer scanning. Character design, storytelling, and composition are stressed.

MICE would like to thank the all exhibitors and attendees that made our show a huge success. We counted approximately 924 people coming through door this past Saturday, and with over 80 exhibitors, attendance totaled over 1000! In the coming week, we’ll be posting our videos from the panels and workshops, in case you missed or want to review any of the action.
In the meantime, please leave any feedback as a comment here, or by sending us an email. We’d greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts on the space, the panels and workshops, communications, improvements for next year or any other comments you may have.
Our thanks goes out to our supporters: The Art Institute of Boston and Susan Levan, The Weekly Dig, each of our panelists and moderators, the art show coordinators and our volunteers!
